Mariko Koike was born in Nagano Prefecture in Japan, and moved to Tokyo at the age of four.

She later lived in Washington D.C. in the U.S.A. for four years and fell in love with jazz music. She started her singing studies in 1999 at Martha Miyake Vocal House in Tokyo. After receiving the Vocal Award from the Vocal House, she began to perform in live venues around Tokyo.

In summer 2005, living in London, Mariko began a monthly residency at Soho Japan.

!n October in 2007, She recorded her first album “BEWITCHED”, which released in March in 2008 in London.

She returned to Tokyo in June 2008, and restarted her live performances in Japan.

On 25th September in 2008, “BEWITCHED” was released in Japan.
